itsie-bitsie

teenie-weenie...skull-and-crossbones bikini. that i have just made. from an old t-shirt. it is rather cute. too bad it doesn't leave much to the imagination. which means i will never get to wear it. ah well.

it has been rather a while since i've written, hasn't it? oopsie.

so for my birthday, i got a single present. it was from my parents, and it was my party. my party was my present. that's it. no one else gave me anything. it was my sixteenth birthday! for heaven's sake, people! okay, calm down. whoosh. calm. it's okay. i'll pretend i don't care. no one get me anything.

so i went to marching band practice on wednesday, and i've already learned almost all of our first song, and it's only been three practices. woohoo! i am so proud of me.

and then after marching band my mum and i did a bunch of running around, and i ended up picking up a cute little notebook and a composition notebook at the dollar store for my dear kati and i. we also stopped at cindy's and i gave her back her pants, which i had fixed the hooks on, and her son matt's boxers, which i sewed the fly shut on all six. i got five dolla for that.

and then yesterday we did some more running around, and i got two dresses, one for my uncle's wedding in a few weeks in colorado and one just because. i don't know which one i'm wearing to the wedding though. and then we went to the craft store and we found and bought this cool little book about how to turn old t-shirts into cool new things, which is pretty cool, and i got a little kit thinger with four buttons/pins/whatever-you-want-to-call-thems, and one has a t-shirt, one has a sheriff star, one has a pair of scissors, and one says "rockin' it old school." and then there are little iron-on patches that have cute things on them. one has the pair of scissors and says "run," one has an iron and says "steamy," etc. etc. there are eight, and they are oh-so-cute.

and so using that book i made the shirt i am wearing, which is not super-cute, i'll admit, and my itsie-bitsie bikini that's not going to work. oh, and a cute little cuff. in that book, at the back, it tells you how to make a fricking wedding dress out of white t-shirts. weird. but it's actually an okay dress. i was surprised.

and then my father was digging out his t-shirts that i could use, and he came across a folder full of papers from when he was in school. we found one of when he was seven, and he had to count by twos to a hundred, and when he got to one hundred he wrote the number, and then drew a little tree around it and drew a house next to the tree...and then on the back he was like "i will try to write better. here is my best work" and he wrote he alphabet. and then we found a thirty-year-old slip of paper with his homework on it, and it said "i did not do my homework because i forgot to bring it home." and my dad looked at me and was like "this is where you get it from." because i can be super forgetful. we also found mother's day cards, valentines, report cards. he got a lot of c's, d's, and f's on his report card, but on his standardized tests he got almost all one hundreds and a few ninety-sixes or whatever. he was really really really smart, but he just never "applied himself" in school. haha.

so today i babysat gary and joanna for about an hour and got twenty dollars. she is also paying me in advance for next week, so no, i don't get twenty bucks an hour for babysitting. and then i'm gonna warsh my daddy's car and get five dolla for that. so i will have about i-don't-know-how-many dollars. probably around forty. yay.

and now, i will close.
