birthday

i am sixteen years old. finally. golly gee whiz.


my gorgeous vest that i finished? well, i didn't finish it. i washed it, and a few of the seams frayed so much that they came apart. i want to stab the thing. but i won't.

the night before my birthday, i spent the night at kati's house. we decided to pull an all-nighter. and for the first time, we did. we took a bajillion pictures. actually, about a hundred and fifty. at around four or four thirty in the morning, the sprinklers came on outside her apartment, and so we ran through them and had a jolly good time. and this is a picture of us after our time regression, when we became eight years old again.

and then for my birthday, ally, kati and i went downtown and got day passes. we watched kung-fu panda at imax and rode all the little kiddie rides. on one of them, an intense spinnie ride, we all got quite dizzy. and then we got off the ride, and kati threw up.

and this is us in front of the sizzler. i mean, it was already sizzlin', but with us on it i'm surprised it didn't catch fire. i have said that like five times already.

we had so much fun on that ride. we kept sliding into each other, and we were laughing so hard the entire time. it was probably the highlight of my day.

after we watched kung-fu panda, temporarily my new favorite movie, we hopped on the bus and rode to kati's dad's house to meet him and his wife, and kati's half- and step-siblings.

all in all, a wonderful day.

and then kati spent the night, and she fell asleep at eleven thirty, and i at twelve thirty. we woke up for church the next day, but when we were ready, kati fell asleep on the couch in the den, and so my parents fussed at me for staying up too late and kati and i stayed home and slept.
