freeze frame

everything's twisting
but i wish so very much
that i got to move
because all i ever do
is look around.

the world’s spinning faster
and no one thought to tell me
that everything
from here on out
is changing.

life is just a game
nothing stays the same
and nobody matters
except everybody else.
their promises are bent
my energy is spent
and nothing ever matters
because nothing stays the same.

the dice have been cast
but i didn’t get a chance
to try and decide
my own life
my own journey.

they say it’s all your choices
that make you who you are
but it’s everyone else’s choice
whether you laugh or cry
and whether you live or die.

life is just a game
nothing stays the same
and nobody matters
except everybody else.
their promises are bent
my energy is spent
and nothing ever matters
because nothing stays the same.

so now I have a question
because it seems to me
that everything’s a blur
swirling round my stand-still form
i’m stuck right where i am.

so why is it that you
get to move, get to breathe
while i’m always out of breath
because the universe is moving
and i’m running in place.

life is just a game
nothing stays the same
and nobody matters
except everybody else.
their promises are bent
my energy is spent
and nothing ever matters
because nothing stays the same.

freeze frame
a poem/song/thing by me.
