all silvery.

this school week was basically the shortest ever. two days. it felt odd.

on saturday morning, my family and i, along with cindy, ashley, matthew, and justine, departed for silver mountain. justine and alex went skiing. justine is basically pro. she skied backwards. jerk. it was alex's first time, but she did pretty well.
then molly and my dad also went skiing. molly did really well, and my dad was doing good. until...

when we were about to go back down the mountain, my dad was nowhere to be found.
molly: "i thought he was in front of me."
mother: "apparently not."
me: "he probably fell off the mountain and died."
cindy (just arrived): "jill, i was coming up on the lift, and i saw someone fall off the mountain, and i thought, 'that's probably erik' and a ski instructor guy went to rescue him.'"
mother: silent freak-out.
me: "see? i was right."
my dad shows up about ten feet away, finally, and my mom goes and hits him in the chest, which does nothing due to his huge winter coat, and starts kinda shouting at him. it was an entertaining experience.
anyway, ashley, matt, and melody were snowboarding. they were all pretty good. i think ashley was the worst, and melody was really good even though it was only her second time.
my mom didn't want to snowboard with me, so we did tubing instead. i'm snowboarding next weekend at schweitzer though, so oh well.

then my mom and matthew and cindy and i took the "world's longest single-stage gondola" back down the mountain to the super-nice resort room i was sharing with cindy and matt and ashley and alex and justine. i slept in the loft with ashley and cindy. but that's later.

we all changed into our swimsuits and went to the indoor water park they have there. it was so much fun. they had like three slides, and they were all pitch-black inside. i finally convinced my mom to slide down with me on a two-person tube, so we went down and screamed bloody murder the whole way down, just for kicks. we went two or three more times, and screamed ridiculously the entire time, and we came out cracking up. my dad said the lifeguards at the top just shook their heads at us, and the one at the bottom told us, "i've never heard so much screaming in my life." it was really fun.
then matthew and i swam the lazy river like five times, because it was short, and we had to navigate our way through all the people in their tubes in it. i got on a tube at one point, and he tipped me over. three times.

then, when everyone went to bed, cindy, matt, ashley, and i watched mr. and mrs. smith, which is a good movie.
all in all, it was actually a lot of fun. surprise, surprise.
and...that's all.

you shout 'cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
and these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
if you only try turning around."
